“Back to the table and unexpected developments”
Beryl Scott’s preoccupation with contemporary and historical social issues has given way to speculation about the traditional association of women’s interest with all things floral. Prints contemplating flower arranging, gardening and botany are placed in imaginary containers using shape and colour inspired by nature. Beryl Scott will be at the exhibition from 10.30am to 4.30pm on: Saturday 7 April, Tuesday 10 April, Tuesday 17 April.

Anna Airy Award Exhibition 2010
Organised by the Ipswich Art Society
The Anna Airy Award Fund was set up in 1965 in memory of Anna Airy (1882 -
Anna Airy was also regarded as a brilliant and inspirational teacher by her students
and, in the Art Club’s Annual Open Exhibitions, she always included a ‘student section’
to give young artists a chance to exhibit their work to the public in the setting
of an art gallery.
Since 1993, Ipswich Art Society has mounted independent exhibitions of students’ work. It has recently extended them to include a section for mature students.
The Anna Airy Award 2010 Exhibition was held in the UCS Foyer exhibition space on the waterfront. Congratulations to the young artists whose exciting work, together with the stunning location, made this one of our most successful Anna Airy Award Exhibitions so far. Grateful thanks to the University for all their help, to NADFAS who generously sponsored the Anna Airy Award, and also to Coe’s for their financial help.
Special congratulations to :
Abigail Whittaker (Kesgrave High School) Winner of the Anna Airy Award 2010
and
Claudia Strange (St. Mary’s School, Cambridge) Winner of the Ipswich Art Society Award
