Statement My aim is to create an expressive response to the environment and to portray an atmospheric and emotional sense of place.
As the image “emerges” a feeling of “rightness” prevails – only then can one inhabit that space.
I think that the process of painting is very well summed – up by the American artist and theorist Charles Biederman with his remark in Letters on the New Art “Each new work is not a final thing: it is part of a process of growth.”
